About the RCR

The annual Red Carpet Ride is a joint effort between the towns of Wilmington, Braidwood, Godley, Braceville and our corporate sponsor. We present a unique opportunity to experience historic Route 66, engage in healthy family fun and raise funds for a worthy cause. Donation proceeds go to a charity selected annually.

Riders can collect donation sponsorships on line via our Active Network event website or download the RC Ride Sponsorship form to collect donations in person.

The Red Carpet Ride is held in conjunction with the Illinois Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor Festival on the first full weekend in May each year.

"No other road in our nation symbolizes Americana like the “Mother Road”. Illinois’ section leads the way with a wealth of authentic sites and attractions, of history and heritage." The Red Carpet Ride follows the current Illinois Route 66 Bike Trail, exploring the sights, towns, and rural areas at a slower pace.

Firefighter Challenge

Fire Departments will compete against each other to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
The winning Fire Department will receive the Rt. 66 Red Carpet Traveling Trophy for the year.
